Here is a list of frequently asked questions.
What If I Don't See Any Available Appointments?
Appointments are typically booked several weeks in advance. The best option is to join the waitlist or join my "Inner Circle" channel on Instagram for cancellations. @waxed_bybrooklynn
Do You Accept New Body Waxing Clients?
My focus is currently on brow services and existing body waxing clients only. I am not accepting new body waxing clients at this time.
New Client vs. Returning Client
New Client Services are for guests I have never seen before, or for clients I have not seen in 6+ months. If it has been more than six months since your last visit, I ask that you please book a new client service unless we have discussed otherwise. New client appointments allow extra time for consultation, brow mapping, and ensuring we create the best plan for your brows.
Returning Client Services are for regular clients who visit consistently and maintain their brows on a routine schedule.
At this time, I am not accepting new clients for body waxing services. However, I am accepting new clients for brow services.
How do I join the waitlist?
If you can’t find the appointment time you’re looking for, you can join the waitlist through my online booking system.
To join the waitlist, click “Book an Appointment” on this website. This will take you to my third-party booking site. From there, select the service you want and continue to the calendar.
If you don’t see the day or time that works for you, scroll down slightly on the calendar page and click “Join the Waitlist.” You’ll then be able to select the specific day or time you’re hoping for.
If that appointment becomes available, the system will automatically notify you so you can book it.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
Medications
Many medications affect skin and skin integrity (glycolic acid, lactic acid, benzyl peroxide, salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, vitamin A, prescribed exfoliating scrubs, antibiotics, hormonal medications, radiation and chemotherapy drugs). Please consult your physician regarding any medications and how they may affect your waxing experience.
Can Someone Go in the Treatment Room with me?
Unfortunately, only the client and Esthetician are allowed in the treatment room during the appointment. For clients under 16, I invite a parent or guardian to be on hand.
Skin Integrity
Those using Retin-A, Vitamin A, Tretinoin and Accutane should avoid waxing. These products increase the rate at which your skin naturally exfoliates its skin cells which can cause your skin to be ripped off during waxing. Facial treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser can also affect the integrity of your skin. Even over-the-counter medications like Differin gel or other acne products can affect your skin.
Please note, if you arrive to your appointment while you are on any of these medications, products or have had any recent facial treatments mentioned above, you will be charged 100% of your booked service and sent home.
Can I Wax if I’m Pregnant?
Yes, waxing is generally safe during pregnancy. However, your skin may be more sensitive due to hormonal changes, which can make waxing feel slightly more intense than usual.
If you are interested in brow lamination, I ask that you check with your doctor before scheduling, since lamination is a chemical service. Once you have approval, you are welcome to book your appointment.
Is there an age limit?
There is no waxing age limit or waxing age requirement. However, if you’re under 18, bring a parent or guardian on your first visit, as consent is needed.

PRE-WAXING QUESTIONS
Let Your Brows Grow
Avoid tweezing or trimming your brows for at least 2–3 weeks before your appointment so there is enough hair for shaping.
Arrive with clean skin free of makeup or skincare products around the brow area.
How Often Should I Get My Brows Waxed?
Most clients schedule brow wax appointments every 4 weeks to maintain their shape.
Waiting longer between appointments allows more hair growth, which helps if your goal is fuller brows. However if you are enjoying your shape, it's important not to wait too long in-between visits as extra growth would call for reshaping/mapping.
What is Brow Mapping?
Brow mapping is a technique used to measure and design the most balanced brow shape for your face. This helps ensure the brows start, arch, and end in the most flattering placement. Brow mapping allows for precise, symmetrical shaping and more consistent results.
How Do I Know What Brow Shape is Best For My Face?
Brow shape should be customized to your bone structure, natural hair growth, and facial balance. During your appointment, I map the brows to determine the most flattering shape while preserving fullness and symmetry. My goal is to enhance your natural brows rather than create a one-size-fits-all shape.
Regular Tint vs. Hybrid Tint
The regular brow tint primarily tints the brow hairs. It enhances the natural color of your brow hair and typically lasts about 3-4 weeks on the hair with very minimal to no stain on the skin.
Hybrid tint is designed to provide a bolder look by lightly staining the skin while primarily coloring the brow hairs. It helps add depth and definition to the brows. The hybrid tint typically lasts 5-7 days on the skin (if aftercare is followed properly) and 4-6 weeks on the brow hairs. Hybrid tint will be bold for the first 5-7 days and will gradually soften.
What Is Brow Lamination?
Brow Lamination is a treatment that relaxes and redirects the brow hair using a gentle chemical solution. This process allows the brow hair to be brushed into a fuller, more lifted shape, helping brows appear thicker, more symmetrical, and easier to style. The results typically last 6-8 weeks depending on hair growth and aftercare.
Every brow lamination includes a brow wax, custom brow mapping, and a brow tint to enhance the final shape and definition. Clients also have the option to upgrade to the Brow Lamination w/ Hybrid Tint service if they would like a longer lasting color and fuller makeup like effect.
Because lamination is a chemical service, proper aftercare is important to keep the brow hairs healthy and hydrated. I strongly recommend picking up brow aftercare at your appointment for $10.
If you are unsure if this is the service for you, please book a consultation or a different brow service. We will discuss then!
Should I Tweeze or Trim Between Appointments?
t’s best to avoid tweezing and trimming between appointments if possible.
During your visit, your brows are shaped with a long-term plan in mind to help improve balance, fullness, and overall shape.
Tweezing or trimming at home can interfere with this process and make it harder to achieve the best results. Trust the process and allow your brows to grow until your next appointment.
How Long Does a Brow Appointment Take?
A brow wax usually takes 15-30 minutes while other services like brow lamination can take up to an hour.
What If I Have Sparse Eyebrows?
Sparse brows are very common. Brow waxing focuses on cleaning up surrounding hair while preserving as much fullness as possible. Over time, consistent shaping can help improve the overall appearance of the brows. Try a brow tint or hybrid tint to help with fullness!
What If I Have Had Botox Around My Brows?
Plan your Botox treatments strategically around your brow appointments. Botox can arch one brow higher than the other and mess with symmetry. It’s recommended to wait at least 7–10 days before getting your brows waxed after a Botox treatment.
Sun Exposure & Brow Waxing
Please do not get your brows waxed if you are sunburned or peeling. Avoid sun exposure on your brows for the first 24 hours after your wax. Waxing will remove your spray tan and avoid spray or self tanning for 24 hours after your wax.
Avoid Wearing Make-up To Your Appointment
It’s best to arrive at your appointment makeup-free if possible. Removing heavy makeup takes time away from your brows. It will also ensure we can see your hair and what needs to be removed.
POST-WAX QUESTIONS
Brow Lamination Aftercare
For the first 24 hours, keep your brows completely dry and avoid sweat, steam, saunas, or skincare products on the brow area.
After 24 hours, brush your brows daily with a spoolie and use a conditioning oil to keep the hairs healthy. Results typically last 6–8 weeks.
Aftercare treatment is available for purchase after your appointment for $10.
What If I Notice Small Bumps After Waxing?
Occasionally small bumps may appear after waxing, especially if you have sensitive skin. These usually resolve quickly and can be minimized by avoiding heat, sweat, and heavy products around the brows for 24 hours. Don't pick or pop them!
Applying a hypochlorous acid spray or even a hydrocortisone cream can help! Don't fret, it is totally common.
Brow Tinting Aftercare
Regular Brow Tint- Avoid getting your brows wet or applying makeup to the area for 24 hours after your appointment. Oil-based products and exfoliating skincare around the brows can cause the tint to fade more quickly. Results typically last 3–4 weeks on the brow hairs.
Hybrid Tint- Keep your brows dry for a minimum of 48 hours. No sweating, steamy showers, swimming, or any water at all for 48 hours. No soaps, oil, makeup remover, or exfoliants near your brows for the first week after your hybrid tint. Pat your brows dry, no scrubbing or rubbing going forward.
Why Is It Important To Stay On A Regular Brow Schedule?
Consistent appointments help maintain your brow shape. Regular maintenance also makes appointments quicker and helps keep the brows looking their best.
